I’ve been eyeing some gravel for a while. And since Canyon has wheels with well-balanced components at a good price, I checked out the Canyon Grizl CF 6. But since it wasn’t in stock, I did some more googling, thought, and finally decided on the 2×11 drivetrain that the Grizl CF 7 model has. My choice so she fell on him. You just had to wait for it to be available.
Before I bought the bike, I told myself that in order to internally justify the purchase of the bike, it would take some serious expedition. From the Czech Republic, I traveled through Šumava, Ore Mountains, Bohemian Switzerland, Lusatian Mountains, Jizera Mountains, Vysočina, Třeboň Region. How about going around the entire republic by bike along the border? Hmm, that’s a good reason to buy a gravel :-).
It excited me as an idea, I opened mapy.cz, marked a rough route, checked the number of kilometers and altitude meters and it was clear that I was going to embrace the Czech Republic on a bike across the border.
Road Wheels - Mavic Ksyrium S
For the bike I bought a set of Mavic Ksyrium S road wheels and Schwalbe One 28mm tires. This combination really rocks, let it be proof that I managed to drive 300 km in one go.
Summary
The Canyon Grizl CF is a universal fast bike with which you can go multi-day bikepacking or a quick swing after work. Especially if you get a road set of wheels for the bike, the possibilities are almost limitless. For this season (2022), I have flown over 5 000 km and I still really enjoy this gravel.
